Take a quality digital photograph of your
painting |
| |
The
best way to do this is to take a photograph of the
painting with a digital camera. Any of today’s digital
cameras will provide high enough quality for entering
this contest. A great article by photograper Jason
Smith explains the best way to digitally photograph
artwork. You may read his article
here. You can also obtain good results by
photographing in sunlight or by hiring a professional
photographer to photograph your painting. Another
option is to take a regular photograph and tell them you
want a disk with the photos on them when you get the
photographs developed. |
| |
|
|
2. |
Load the digital photograph on to your
computer. |
| |
If
you took the photograph yourself, instructions should
have come with your camera to explain how to get the
photograph out of the camera and into the computer. If
you’re not sure how to do this, please ask a computer
savvy friend or relative. If you have a disk then you
will just copy the photo from the disk to your computer. |
| |
|
|
3. |
Make sure you save the photograph as a
jpeg image |
| |
This
is the most common image form and is used on the
Internet. It will probably already be in this form but
if it is not, most photo editing programs have a “Save
As” command that will let you save the image as a jpeg.
On a PC jepgs use the file extension “.jpg” For
example: mypicture.jpg. |
