The Rive Gauche Modern Fine Oil Set includes 8 tubes of oil paint from Sennelier's innovative color line imported from France. Rive Gauche is French for “Left Bank” (Paris), the location famous art landmarks such as the “Beaux Arts” School, and of course, the Sennelier Store. Remaining true to its legendary sense of innovation, the Sennelier laboratory developed an original paint formula that combines the tradition of oil paint with a modern approach.
Designed to dry faster and resist yellowing better. The Rive Gauche formula boasts a quicker drying time than classic oil brands, making them a good choice when painting multiple layers. Because they're made with safflower oil, these oil paints are less prone to yellowing than brands made with linseed oil.
Rive Gauche Oil Colors have a high pigment concentration, which allows for strong covering power and cleaner mixes. These oils have a thick, uniform texture and very good lightfastness. Luminous and opaque, they dry to a satin finish.
